Genetic diversity analysis of Prunella vulgaris in China using ISSR and SRAP markers

► ISSR and SRAP are both reliable and have good performance in the genetic analysis of Prunella vulgaris. ► P. vulgaris populations showed a high level of genetic diversity. ► Twenty-six Chinese P. vulgaris populations could be clustered into three groups. ► The result showed the similar genetic variation within and among populations.
