Assessment of genetic diversity in Achillea millefolium accessions from Iran using ISSR marker

► Seven ISSR primers generated 72 amplified fragments, most of which were polymorphic. ► The dendrogram revealed six groups which first cluster was composed of the Achillea millefolium subsps. elbursensis, this subsps. is endemic to Northern Iran. ► The low relationship observed between morphological and molecular markers (r = −0.28, p = 0.019). ► The results of the clustering analysis corresponded closely with the geographical origins of the genotypes. ► The analysis of variance showed that all of the measured traits have variation among these plants.
