Secondary metabolites from the aerial parts of Origanum scabrum Boiss. & Heldr.

► Eight compounds were isolated from Origanum scabrum Boiss. & Heldr. ► The major compound present in Origanum scabrum is rosmarinic acid. ► One depsides and one neolignan are reported in the genus for the first time. ► Comparative chemotaxonomic study within the genus is given.
