Effects of salt and drought stress on alkaloid production in endophyte-infected drunken horse grass (Achnatherum inebrians)

► Achnatherum inebrians is usually infected with endophyte Neotyphodium gansuense. ► Ergot alkaloids were found in this new symbiont under salt or drought stress. ► Ergonovine levels were higher than for ergine under either stress.
