Design, synthesis and antibacterial activity of cinnamaldehyde derivatives as inhibitors of the bacterial cell division protein FtsZ

The cinnamaldehyde derivatives, especially compound 10, exhibited potent FtsZ-targeted antibacterial activity with an MIC value of 4 μg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
