Synthesis of diethyl 4-substituted-2,6-dimethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylates as a new series of inhibitors against yeast α-glucosidase

Twenty-five diethyl 4-substituted-2,6-dimethyl-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylates (1-25) were synthesized and their yeast a-glucosidase inhibitory activity was evaluated. This leads to the identification of a new series of potent a-glucosidase inhibitors. Kinetic studies were also carried out.
