Synthesis and biological evaluation of 4-alkoxy-6,9-dichloro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalines as inhibitors of TNF-α and IL-6

► A novel series of triazoloquinoxalines was synthesized. ► Some of these new compounds were able to inhibit the production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6. ► Other compounds were able to specifically inhibit IL-6.
