Synthesis and evaluation of the anti parasitic activity of aromatic nitro compounds

► Eight compounds were synthesized and evaluated as antiparasitic agents. ► None was active against trypomastigotes and amastigotes forms of Trypanosoma cruzi. ► Compounds 6 and 7 exhibited anti-leishmanial activity and low toxicity to human cells.
