Synthesis and characterization of novel bis(carboxylato)dichloridobis(ethylamine)platinum(IV) complexes with higher cytotoxicity than cisplatin

► Six novel platinum(IV) complexes have been synthesized. ► Some complexes have higher cytotoxicity than cisplatin in four human tumor cell lines. ► Cytotoxicity is dependent on the lipophilicity.
