1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-ones derivatives: Design, Synthesis, in vitro antibacterial, antifungal and antitubercular study

► Novel 1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one 4a-l derivatives are designed and evaluated. ► Biginelli's reaction is employed for preparation of compounds 1a/1b using CaCl2. ► Compounds 4d and 4j showed significant antibacterial and antifungal activity. ► Compound 4d displayed promising antitubercular activity compared to standards.
