1-Aryl-5-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxamide: An effective scaffold for the design of either CB1 or CB2 receptor ligands

► New CB1 and CB2 receptors ligands are prepared and evaluated. ► As CB1 receptor ligand, compound 11 was superior to Rimonabant and AM251. ► Compound 11 reduced intake of sucrose rather than intake of regular food in rats. ► Compound 23 showed significant affinity and selectivity for the CB2 receptor. ► This scaffold is useful for the design of either CB1 or CB2 receptor ligands.
