Particle size monitoring of BaCl2 nanocrystals in fluorozirconate glasses

► We created BaCl2 nanocrystals within fluorochlorozirconate glasses by thermal processing. ► We provide an alternative method of size determination of the nanocrystals by a Rayleigh scattering model. ► The size is compared to data from X-ray diffraction and the Scherrer equation.
