The role of TiO2, ZrO2, BaO and SiO2 on the mechanical properties and crystallization behavior of fluorapatite-mullite glass-ceramics

► The role of some additives on precipitation of mullite and fluoroapatite was studied. ► The size and morphology of crystals were affected considerably by the adopted additives. ► Barium oxide showed the most influence on reduction of crystallization temperature and enhancement of mechanical properties.
