Inelastic neutron scattering study of dynamical properties of bioprotectant solutions against temperature

► We investigated the INS spectra at low frequency of trehalose/glycerol mixtures. ► The trehalose local dynamics is suppressed by the presence of glycerol small amount. ► The glycerol effect on trehalose dynamics is maximum at the 2.5% glycerol content. ► Glycerol interacts with trehalose decreasing its fragility. ► Glycerol increases the trehalose bioprotective action at the 2.5% glycerol content.
