Surfactant assisted synthesis of high surface area ceria modified mesoporous tetragonal zirconia powder and its chromium adsorption study

▶ Mesoporous ZrO2-2 mol% CeO2 having tetragonal structure was synthesized. ▶ It possesses high surface area (275 m2 g−1) and large pore volume (0.52 cm3 g−1). ▶ The sample calcined at 500 °C adsorbed 85% Cr(IV) ions in 1 h and at normal pH.
