A highly-safe lithium-ion sulfur polymer battery with SnO2 anode and acrylate-based gel polymer electrolyte

We present a secure lithium ion sulfur polymer battery exploiting an optimized SnO2 anode and acrylate-based gel polymer electrolyte. The SnO2 anode was fabricated by integrating stretchable graphene as conductive additive and brittle carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as binder to form a robust and stable anodic solid electrolyte interface (SEI) in ether-based electrolyte. Acrylate-based gel polymer electrolyte was further adopted as blockage layer to suppress the shuttle effect. The prepared lithium ion sulfur polymer battery exhibit superior safety, enhanced cycle life and ultra-high power density.453
