Profile wear of resin-bonded nickel-coated diamond wheel and roughness in creep-feed grinding of cemented tungsten carbide
چکیده انگلیسی

Tungsten carbide–cobalt (WC–Co) is a composite material which is very hard and difficult to machine. Among the conventional machining methods, pendulum surface grinding has successfully been used for removing thin layers of this material. This paper deals with wheel wear and workpiece surface roughness in creep-feed grinding of tungsten carbide with 20% cobalt binder using a resin-bonded nickel-coated diamond wheel. Experiments have shown that the wheel wear (radial and side corner) increased and surface roughness decreased with increased feed rate, on the other hand, wheel wear and surface roughness decreased with increased wheel speed.
