Study on the mechanical heterogeneity of electron beam welded thick TC4-DT joints

► Electron beam welding affects the mechanical properties of 50 mm thick TC4-DT alloy. ► EBW improves the strength and microhardness, while reduces ductility of TC4-DT alloy. ► Mechanical heterogeneity between the WM and BM is smaller than 1.3. ► Mechanical heterogeneity is dependent on the size of β phase and martensite.
