Hot deformation behavior of GH4169 superalloy associated with stick δ phase dissolution during isothermal compression process

► Deformation behavior of GH4169 alloy associated with stick δ phase dissolution was studied. ► Optimum parameter for forging process was predicted under the condition of 940 °C/0.001 s−1. ► Flow instability region located around 940 °C/1.0 s−1 with stick δ phase content of about 14%. ► The δ phase content equation during isothermal compression process has been established.
