Effect of oxide particles on the stabilization and final microstructure in aluminium

- Al samples with incorporated alumina particles were prepared using SPD.
- A grain size reduction by a factor over ten is achieved.
- Accompanied with grain size reduction, the hardness increased.
- The samples exhibit excellent thermal stability for pure aluminium.
