Severe plastic deformation of Ti74Nb26 shape memory alloys

- Successful ECAE of the Ti74Nb26 shape memory alloy at room temperature.
- Improvement in shape memory properties after ECAE and a subsequent heat treatment.
- Showed the texture differences of ECAE routes and their effect on the shape memory response.
- Only 60% of maximum theoretical transformation strain was reached experimentally.
- Produced a nickel-free biocompatible SMA that can be used in the biomedical industry.
