Solute grain boundary segregation during high temperature plastic deformation in a Cr-Mo low alloy steel

► The segregation of P and Mo is evidently enhanced by plastic deformation. ► The boundary concentrations of P and Mo increase with increasing strain. ► A model with consideration of site competition in grain boundary segregation in a ternary system is developed. ► Model predictions show a reasonable agreement with the observations.
