Thermoelectric properties of n-type 95%Bi2Te3-5%Bi2Se3 materials fabricated by magnetic pulsed compaction (MPC)

► Rapid solidification process of gas atomization was used to synthesize 95%Bi2Te3-5%Bi2Se3 doped with 0.04% SbI3 thermoelectric powders. ► Microstructural investigation of the as-atomized and heat treated powders were conducted. ► A new powder consolidation technique like Magnetic Pulsed Compaction (MPC) was employed to compact the gas atomized powders. ► Recrystallized fine grains contributed the highest figure-of-merit into the bulks. ► MPCed bulks were much less anisotropic than the directionally grown single crystals.
