Phase equilibria in the Mg-Ti-Ni system at 500 °C and hydrogenation properties of selected alloys

► Phase equilibria in the Mg-Ti-Ni system were investigated at 500 °C. ► One ternary compound Mg3TiNi2 was identified. ► TiNi phase dissolves up to 25 at.% Mg at 500 °C. ► Mg3TiNi2 and Mg0.5Ti0.67Ni0.83 intermetallics absorb hydrogen at room temperature.
