Magnetic and transport properties of selected YbxGd1−xNi5 intermetallics

► In the YbxGd1−xNi5 (x ≤ 0.5) series an usual magnetic M(T) dependence is observed. ► M(T) may be caused by the arrangement of local Gd/Yb magnetic moments and CEP. ► The observe exchange bias and coercivity indicate the highest change for x = 0.4. ► MCE decreases with Gd/Yb substitution. ► The electronic specific heat coefficient increases with the increase of Yb content.
