Optimization of mechanical properties of Ti-Fe-Sn alloys by controlling heterogeneous eutectic structure

► Bimodal eutectic structure in Ti-Fe-Sn alloy containing two distinct eutectic structures forms upon solidification. ► The volume fraction of the two eutectic structures is controlled by fine tuning of the composition. ► This is effective to optimize the strength and plasticity of the bimodal Ti-Fe-Sn eutectic alloys.
