Common errors of applying the Voronoi tessellation technique to metallic glasses

► Ordinary Voronoi technique is used to analyze atomic structure of metallic glasses. ► It essentially creates analytical errors because of atomic size difference. ► Number of icosahedra and Voronoi index could be entirely incorrect. ► An alternative approach, called the radical plane method can solve it.
