Study of the magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect in RCo2B2 (RÂ =Â Tb, Dy and Ho) compounds

► The magnetocaloric effect in RCo2B2 (R = Tb, Dy and Ho) have been studied. ► The -ΔSMmax (ΔH = 7 T) is 8.6, 14.8 and 13.9 J/kg K for R = Tb, Dy and Ho, respectively. ► The present results may give some clue for searching new materials with large MCE.
