Glass formation in a high entropy alloy system by design

► Parameters important to glass formation and “high entropy alloy (HEA)” formation were considered. ► Alloys capable of forming both amorphous and random solid solutions were produced. ► The ability of these alloys to form glasses differs from some other reported HEAS. ► This is due to the differences in vacancy formation enthalpy and heat of mixing of the alloys.
