EPMA sector group celebrates HM tooling centenary

Commemorating 90 years since the invention and initial commercialization of hardmetals in Europe, the EPMA (European Powder Metallurgy Association) 'pulled out all the stops' in showcasing the industry at the 2016 World Congress in Hamburg, Germany. Highspots included the EHMG (EPMA Hard Materials Group) annual Open Meeting, a Special Interest Seminar on Cemented Carbides and a Celebratory Dinner (sponsored by Hilti, Sandvik, Extramet and PVA TePla) during which the participants were subjected to your reporter's personal reminiscences of state-of-art hardmetal production during the 1950s.
