Analyzing effectiveness of LVRT techniques for DFIG wind turbine system and implementation of hybrid combination with control schemes
چکیده انگلیسی
In addition to the introduction of wind turbine integration with utility grids, this paper summarizes the review of various low voltage ride-through techniques used in the past, their impacts on removing the faults/effects of grid faults and presents a new technique which uses the hybrid combination of Crowbar and Series dynamic resistances controlled by improved control schemes. Since the developments in Wind Power Generation have certainly increased world's Wind Generation Capacity in the past few years, the selection of appropriate wind turbine generator has become inevitable. Among different types of Wind Generators, use of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) has rapidly increased due to its unique qualities. Whereas utilities have defined their own grid codes requiring that Wind Turbine shall remain connected to the grid during any low voltage event, these grid codes define the criteria for Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) techniques.
