Evaluation of Interfacial Normal Bond Strength in Titanium Matrix Composites Using Cruciform Specimen
چکیده انگلیسی

The unilaterally coupled finite element method was used to evaluate the interfacial normal bond strength of SiC/Titanium matrix composites and to analyze the stress distribution of cruciform specimen. Finite element modeling included two steps: the cooling process of composites and the transverse loading process. The effects of Young's Modulus and residual stresses on the radial stress distribution were discussed in detail. The interfacial normal strength of SiC/Ti-6Al-4V was evaluated to be about 300 MPa.
