Overview of LHCb-RICH upgrade

As part of the RICH upgrade, the HPDs will be replaced by MaPMTs in both RICH detectors. The prototypes of MaPMTs and their readout have been tested. The optics of the upstream RICH will be modified, which involves rebuilding most parts of this detector. An overview of the developments for the RICH upgrade and the corresponding particle identification performance are reported.
