چکیده انگلیسی

Wave-guide technique is an efficient method for structural health monitoring (SHM) by detecting and forecasting possible damages in the distributed pipelines. It is essential to study the wave motion in the pipes, which will make a theoretical guidance for SHM application. In this work, theoretical analysis of wave propagation in the filament-wound composite pipes conveying fluid for the application in SHM is investigated based on an elastic shell model. There are three fundamental wave modes: symmetrical (S), antisymmetric (A) and horizontally polarized shear (SH) wave modes exist in the low frequency area (⩽100 kHz) based on the theoretical approach. We analyzed the influences of the winding angular orientation, cross-section size and velocity of the fluid in the three fundamental wave modes in detail, and recommended the effective frequency ranges that can be used in SHM. This work is an essential step for wave-guide techniques and would be helpful in SHM of the pipelines.
