Modulation of membrane phospholipids, the cytosolic calcium influx and cell proliferation following treatment of B16-F10 cells with recombinant phospholipase-D from Loxosceles intermedia (brown spider) venom

► Immune detection of several isoforms of phospholipase-D in brown spider venom. ► Phospholipase-D hydrolyzes synthetic phospholipids in a time-dependent manner. ► Phospholipase-D binds to B16-F10 cell membrane and hydrolyzes phospholipids. ► Phospholipase-D does not induce B16-F10 cytotoxicity but causes a calcium influx. ► Phospholipase-D stimulates proliferation of B16-F10 cells.
