Marked toxicity of Albizia bernieri extracts on embryo-larval development in the medaka fish (Oryzias latipes)

► We evaluated the toxicity of an extract of Albizia bernieri on the embryos of medaka. ► The plant extract caused a dose-dependent reduction in embryo survival. ► Embryos exposed to an extract of A. bernieri displayed cerebral lesions. ► Cell lysis and the emergence of lysosomes were observed in the glial tissue.
