Hyaluronidase from the venom of the social wasp Polybia paulista (Hymenoptera, Vespidae): Cloning, structural modeling, purification, and immunological analysis

► Polybia paulista venom hyaluronidase was cloned, sequenced and structurally modeled. ► Pp-Hyal 3D-structural model is very similar to those of rVes v 2 and Apis mellifera. ► Such similarities may involve IgE-mediated cross-reactivity among some Hymenoptera venoms. ► Pp-Hyal-specific antibody was produced from native Pp-Hyal purified to homogeneity. ► Pp-Hyal-specific antibody can be used for a diagnostic kit to allergic patients.
