In the initial phase of the experiment, the third order nonlinear optical properties of Basic Fuchsin dye solutions were screened with the assistance of a single beam Zscan technique. And then an open aperture and closed aperture Zscan measurement scale was applied meticulously in an effort to differentiate the dependency of the present dye under study on different input fluences and on different dye concentrations. The overall results suggested that better nonlinearity and optical limiting were observed at a lower concentration of dye. A switch over tendency from reverse saturable absorption to saturable absorption is observed for a higher concentration of the dye. A reduction in the nonlinear refraction value is also observed at higher dye concentrations. This concrete observations justify that the dye used in the current experiment is gradually and constructively achieving acceptance for potential optoelectronic applications.
