Neucrin, a novel secreted antagonist of canonical Wnt signaling, plays roles in developing neural tissues in zebrafish

► Zebrafish neucrin was predominantly expressed in developing neural tissues. ► The knockdown of neucrin caused overactivation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling. ► Overexpression of neucrin reduced the expression of the Wnt/β-catenin target genes. ► Neucrin is involved in cell proliferation, survival and differentiation in brain.
