Threshold analysis for a THz-wave parametric oscillator with a quasi-phase-matching scheme in lithium niobate

The analytical expressions of the parametric gain for the terahertz wave (THz-wave) and the Stokes wave of THz-wave parametric oscillator (TPO) with a quasi-phase-matching scheme in periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) are deduced. The pump threshold expression of the TPO with a quasi-phase-matching scheme in PPLN is derived based on the gain expression of the Stokes wave. The expression is theoretically analyzed to find the relationship between the pump threshold and the parameters of the resonant cavity.
