Fuzzy decision filter for color images denoising

To avoid the misclassification of a hard threshold in switching vector filters, a new fuzzy decision filter is proposed. It uses fuzzy membership value to describe the property of pixels and pixels are defined between noises and noise-free. When the central pixel is noise-free completely, the pixel keeps unchanged. Otherwise, the pixel will be replaced by means value of uncorrupted pixels of different phase, which depends on fuzzy membership value in the filtering window. Experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance than some other popular methods.
