Analytical and experimental remarks on the Sommerfeld's half plane solution

An experiment is performed in order to test some features of the Sommerfeld's half plane solution that is claimed to be a rigorous solution to a diffraction problem. Some remarks related to the boundary diffraction wave theory are accomplished.
