Lack of Methemoglobin Elevations After Topical Applications of Benzocaine Alone or Benzocaine Plus Tetracaine to the Oral Mucosa

Recommended doses of benzocaine or benzocaine combined with tetracaine when applied to the cheek mucosa do not induce even clinically insignificant elevations in methemoglobin levels.
