The electrostatic precipitation used in industry had been proved to have a favourable effect in the corona condition. On the basis of the electrostatic precipitation theories,we used the methods of tubular electrostatic precitator and designed an experimental facility. It could be concluded that corona would emerged in the voltage of 12 kV. According to contrast the conditions of no corona in the voltage of 10 kV, a conclusion could be drawn that the effects of electrostatic smoke abatement would have a remarkable enhancement. The reason was that a large number of free electrons existing in the corona zone could make dust charged. And the smoke dusts were adsorbed in the grounding electrode. Thus, the electrostatic smoke abatement device could be used when the voltage exceeded 12 kV.
