Motion Segmentation Based on Edge Detection

In order to overcome the occlusion problem in motion segmentation, we propose a new motion segmentation method based on edge detection. In this method, we use the Canny edge detection method to segment one frame in an image sequence, and then, a motion segmentation method based on pattern recognition is used to remove the background edge in Canny segmentation result. At last, some MPEG4 test sequences are used to test our algorithm.
