Model Based Biometric Identification for Improved Security

Active Appearance Models have been proved to be the promising technique in the field of biometrics due to its accuracy and efficiency. We have introduced this new powerful AAM technique for recognition purpose. We have used the input data to be hands and have shown how the shape models and appearance models have been detected and how the contour positions are being marked when the hands are in different motions. It is very effective towards lighting, background changes and head orientations. This technique can be used for recognition in real time applications such as cameras, mobile phones, web cameras and so on.
