Synthesis of Fe3O4 /Polyaniline Nanocomposite in Reversed Micelle Systems and its Performance Characteristics

The magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles with average diameter of about 10nm were prepared by the hydrothermal method. The Fe3O4/polyaniline nanocomposites were synthesized via reversed micelle method by using Fe3O4, camphorsulfonic acid (CSA) and ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) as raw material, dopant and surfactant, and oxidant, respectively. The sample was characterized by XRD, UV-Vis and FT-IR. The spectra show that PANI was synthesized by chemical oxidation polymerization, while combined with Fe3O4 to generate nanocomposite in reversed micelle systems. The SEM results indicate that Fe3O4 nanoparticles are possibly coated by a thin layer of PANI. The electrical properties and magnetic properties of sample were studied by conductivity measurement, DC and AC magnetism measurement. Compared with the synthesized Fe3O4, the conductivity of nanocomposites increases 45%. The specific magnetization of nanocomposites is lower than the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. At the same magnetic field, μ′ of nanocomposites decreases with increasing the frequency of alternating magnetic.
