Applied Research of Performance-based Fire Protection Design in a Large Building

In this paper, fire simulation software FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) and evacuation software building EXODUS were used to simulate quantitively a gymnasium based on computer, and the difference between evacuation time (ASET) and the required safe evacuation time (RSET) was obtained. It studies the performance-based fire protection design of the stadium according to the simulation results combined with the existing “office mode”, that is, fire-fighting design code .Finally, the fire-fighting design of stadium was assessed.
