Kinetic modeling and simulation of the gluco regulatory system to detect endocrine system failure

In this paper a mathematical model for blood glucose regulation is developed using compartmental techniques and simulated in windows programming using OWL. The modeling and simulation of the endocrine control system gives the following results: (a) liver failures, (b) pancreas failure and (c) kidney failure. It also helps in the diagnosis of diseases like juvenile diabetes, hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. It is also programmed to deliver insulin level to the blood upon hyperglycemia. The simulated results are found to justify the pathological behavior.

RésuméCet article décrit un modèle mathématique de la régulation du glucose sanguin utilisant des techniques d'analyse compartimentale et développé en langage Windows OWL. La modélisation et la simulation du système de contrôle endocrine ont été appliquées aux déficiences hépatiques, pancréatiques et rénales. Il apporte également une aide dans le diagnostic de maladies comme le diabète juvénile, l'hypo- et l'hyperglycémie. Il permet aussi de simuler l'administration d'insuline en cas d'hyperglycémie. Les résultats simulés sont compatibles avec les comportements pathologiques.
