L'éducation thérapeutique du patient : du dire au faire

A multisite action research design was developed to document changes brought by the implementation of patient therapeutic education (PTE) program in hospital departments. This article describes mainly the modifications of the representations and the roles of the professionals. Semi-structured interviews were realized, completed by observational data. To highlight the changes, data were collected in two phases over 18 months, including focus groups about the main emergent themes with professionals of each department. The first part reveals the impacts of the paradigms of the health system on the conception of the PTE by the actors. Then we describe the therapeutic educational diversity of the programs in the look in particular of the temporality of the programs of PTE and the management of team. And finally, individual factors are observed explaining the capacity to pass of tell in to make. This research shows that caregivers face tensions from multiple angles, knowing that the concepts used in patient education often run counter to current paradigms of the health care system and the role it plays. Ultimately, an essential dimension of transformation lies in the work of caregivers to allow themselves to change their role in education.
